Description

What's Love Got to do With It? is the dramatized story of singer Tina Turner. This movie runs for approximately two hours and stars Angela Bassett as Tina Turner. Laurence Fishburn portrays the character of Ike Turner. This movie is rated R for violence, language and sexual themes. Anna Mae Bullock grows up in a sad home after being abandoned by her parents to be raised by her grandmother. After her grandmother's death, Anna moves to St. Louis to be reunited with her mother and sister. One night at a club she wins a spot singing with Ike Turner's band after a stage contest. Noticing her unique vocal style, Ike decides to start mentoring Anna Mae. The two form a romantic relationship after Anna moves in with Ike. They soon marry, and Anna becomes Tina Turner. The duo begins a successful music carrier.
